The posidoniáceas (scientific name Posidoniaceae) they are a family of marine plants spread over the sea Mediterranean and on the south coast of Australia.
It belongs to the order Alismatales and possesses the only kind, Posidonia, with 9 species. Together with some related families they form what is known as ” marine pastures ” or ” meadow marinades “. This family is recognized by his rhizome monopodial and his inflorescences racimosas branched out.
